A Ph.D. level time series course with an emphasis on financial time series analysis.
Topics include: ARIMA; Spectral Analysis; GARCH and Stochastic Volatility;
VAR; Cointegration; Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods; and a few other topics as time permits.

ECO5281-01: Financial Economics 1
A Ph.D. level financial economics course. Topics include: Review of Consumer Theory; Dynamic Programming;
Equilibrium and arbitrage; Asset Valuation; Risk and Uncertainty; Structure of Financial Markets;
Equilibrium Pricing; Mean Variance Analysis and CAPM; Term Structure Models; Option Pricing.

ECS4504-01: Economics of the Middle East
An introductory level undergraduate course which examines the economic conditions and prospects of
the Middle East and North African Economies (MENA). Topics include: History of MENA; Economic Growth;
Demographics; Human Capital; Water and Food Resources; Oil; Planning and Development; The Role of Islam;
Islamic Banking; Prospects for MENA.
