The Obligatory
Links Page
- Georgia State University
- Okay, this is THE site. If you visit no other link, visit this one. When
you do,click first on IT Resources. I'm not exaggerating to say that this
is a Master's degree by itself! Try the video of Dr. Gagné his work
on the conditions of learning or an entire distance learning course on ISD
complete with supplemental articles (and it's based on the Dick & Carey
model). I could go on and on. Just visit the site, then send me email thanking
me.
- At least a thousand
ISD Links
- University of Colorado at Denver's Instructional Technology Page. Look at
their Corollary Links page. There are more links than you'll ever track down.
- Electronic Performance
Support Systems
- The University of Georgia's Program for Instructional Technology maintains
this page. It has a good bit of information about Electronic Performance Support
Systems.
- FSU's own Learning Systems Institute
- Aside from general information, this page includes a link to the Center
for Performance Technology and The Office for Needs Assessment and Planning.
- Algonquoin College
of Applied Arts and Sciences
- This is a good general site for educational technology. It features links,
html and multimedia authoring help, and a section on distance learning. Can't
go wrong here.
- ERIC Clearinghouse on
Information and Technology
- What you expect from an ERIC clearinghouse - great digests, a tremendous
amount of resource material, and a search engine that could find Jimmy Hoffa.
- AECT
- The homepage for The Association for Educational Communications & Technology.
You should already know this since you are a member.
- ISPI
- The homepage for the International Society for Performance Improvement.
I'm sure you already have this one bookmarked.
- Maricopa Center for Learning
& Instruction (MCLI)
- "Here you will find over 695 examples of how the web is being used
as a medium for learning." They aren't exaggerating. You can choose from
twenty or thirty categories e.g., (english, math, religion, writing) or do
a keyword search for lots of specific ideas. You can even submit your own
ideas.
- Instructional Technology Research
Online (InTRO)
- This is another Georgia State University site. They have a nice set of links
and some research document, but what I like is the Who's Who in Instructional
Technology section. Try it.
- Rapid
Software Prototyping
- This site by Sheffield Hallam University will be of interest to some. It's
a tutorial for teaching rapid prototyping for software, but the similarities
to ISD are interesting. Also, it's an easy site to navigate and doesn't take
long.
- Instructional
Design Methodologies and Techniques
- This site from a graduate student at George Washington University has a
nice tutorial function as well as clear descriptions of ISD. Worth the time.
