About Me
Yes, the obligatory "About Me" page, beginning with the obligatory "how I became a fan" segment. Here it is: How I became a BNL Fan. A true story of the evolution from casual fan to as dedicated as they come. And it only took...two years.
I am Kelley.
I'm a twenty-something graduate student in Computer Science at
Florida State University. Needless to say, I'm a massive
geek
I've lived in the Florida Panhandle since I was four years
old. My family is originally from New Orleans and the
surrounding area. We had a small stint of pretending to be
Texans out in Texarkana, but it didn't last long at all.
While I'm a beach bum at heart, I've yet to really see snow, and
I long to frolic in the fluffy, white stuff. If only snow didn't
have to be so cold...
Most notably, I'm a horrible procrastinator. It's a skill I've
fine tuned over the years. I have every intention of starting a
club...Soon. No, really, I mean it.
Aside from BNL, there are a wide range of artists/bands I just
adore. While I don't listen to all kinds of music (sorry metal
and country), I'm usually pretty open-minded. Here's some of my
most favorite:
Guster -
Neck and neck with BNL as my favorite band. These guys are
ridiculously awesome. My two favorite albums of theirs are
Goldfly and Keep it Together.
Jump, Little Children - Friends of Guster,
these guys are just awesome. Eclectic would be the word I'd use
to describe them. Magazine would be my recommendation, if
for the song Cathedrals alone. It's just chilling.
Jack
Johnson - A friend recommended his album On and On.
Not only did I fall in love with it, but his other albums,
Brushfire Fairytales and In Between Dreams are
just as awesome, if not better. Lately, the latter cd has been
my favorite.
Midtown
- I'm not a huge punk fan, but their CD Forget What You
Know is just a phenomenal. My favorite song is Nothing is
Ever What it Seems closely followed by the 13 minute So
Long as We Keep Our Bodies Numb We're Safe.
The
Format - Interventions and Lullabies is a great CD.
My personal faves are the songs On Your Porch and Tune
Out.
The Flaming
Lips - Can we say Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots? I
thought so.
The Beatles
- No explanation needed.
